Country Music

Country music is the best medicine. What ever has got you down, there is bound to be a country song written about it. Contrary to popular belief, country music is not all about losing your dog, your wife, your truck, your house, and going to jail. It also can boost your mood, remind you of all the good things. One song about all the good things in life is Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band.

“Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up”

When I hear that song it makes me happy. I don’t know about you, but I know that some good music, great friends, and an amazing fitting pair of jeans, could make me happy any day. I grew up listening to country music, so whenever I get the chance to listen to it, memories of a care-free time are brought back. Country music can hit home for virtually everyone, if people can get past thier damn stereotypes of it.

About Me

Hello! My name is Amber. I am from Holland, MI, for those of you who do not know where that is, it is about 45 minutes southwest of Grand Rapids, MI. Something that people, not from Holland, find interesting about me is I was a Dutch Dancer (also known as Klompen Dancer) during Tulip Time. In the up and coming year I will be an Alumni dancer. I lived in the same house in Holland for my whole life. My dad owns a local carpet cleaning business, Wiley’s Cleaning Service. My mom, my sister, and I (that’s the whole family), all have jobs there. Although Holland is a rapidly growing town, at heart I am a small town girl. I dream of living on a farm in Fremont, MI-the farm that my grandma grew up on. Some activities that I enjoy include socializing, writing, reading, being crazy with my friends, camping, hunting, some fishing, 4-wheeling, listening to country music (and most other kinds of music too), and, yes, even shopping. I am the type of girl that likes to do a wide spectrum of things. You say it; I’ll probably love to do it. My life motto was said by Dr. Seuss: “Be who you are, say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter, don’t mind.” That’s who I am!
