We’re not that different after all… (EC)

I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same things too, So we’re really not that different, me and you.” – Collin Raye

I wish everyone could understand this. We’re all human, and we all live our different lives but experience many of the same things. Whether you laugh on a regular basis or just on occasion, it is still laughter. Laughter ties us together. Whether it is a man or a woman that you love, or anywhere in between, it is still love. Love ties us together. You may hope for a better life for yourself, or someones else, you may hope for something that no one else has ever hoped for, but it is still hope. Hope ties us together. Whether it be trying with all your effort and not succeeding, or just simply trying and succeeding, it is still trying, and we all try at something at some point in life. Trying ties us together. If you hurt once in a while, if you hurt all the time, if you cause others to hurt, or have been hurt by another, it is still hurt, and we all hurt sometime or another. Hurt ties us together. Whether you need the basics of life such as food and shelter, or you need somebody to hold you tight and tell you that everything is going to be alright, it is still need. Need ties us together. Whether you fear death, clowns, heights, darkness, or what may lie ahead in life, it is still fear. Fear ties us together. You may cry out of happiness, fear, anger, sadness or despair, or you nay just cry because life feels like more than you can handle, it is still tears that fall. Crying ties us together. We all do these things in some form or another. So we’re really not that different, me and you. Think about that next time you want to judge someone for being different… we’re not that different after all.

Explore. Dream. Discover. (EC)

I Like this quote I dislike this quote“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain

I love this quote. I find often that when I do have regrets it is more often than not regretting not doing somethingthan regretting doing another. Really this is one of the best pieces of advice one could ever receive. Sometimes, the best thing you could ever do is to just jump right in and do the first thing that comes to mind. Thinking can make you worry too much, and worring causes you to not do. Although it is never very good to act wihtout thinking, sometimes there is a limit to the amount of thinking that you should do. Just do it! Explore, dream, and discover yourself and the world around you.

Tired of Being Sexy

Beyonce declared that she was “tired of bering sexy.” That is my quote. Her saying that influenced the name of one of my favorite artists. Cansei De Ser Sexy in Portuguese means “got tired of being sexy.” They were rushed to think of a name when they realised that their first gig was only a week away. They went to a club in Brazil every fifteen days, at that club was were they thought of their name. Cansei De Ser Sexy, also known as CSS, loved to party to the sounds of Beyonce’s song “Crazy Love.” This quote also inspired Justin Timberlake’s hit song “Sexy Back.”

Peeing in a Pool…

“Having a smoking section in a restaurant is a little like having a peeing section in a pool.”

Amen! I have nothing agianst smoking, or even smoking in restaurants, but some people do. If there is simply a section for smoking in a restaurant, the smoke still travels everywhere. If you wish to put cancer in your own lung, go for it; but don’t put cancer in other people’s lungs. It’s the same with peeing in a swimming pool. If you want to swim in your own pee, then please do it in you own pool or bath tub, don’t make everyone else swim in your pee too! Thank-you.

Live a Little, Take a Risk

“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly” –Robert Francis Kennedy\

This quote is one I have always loved. What this means to me is to always take a chance, no matter what the risk. For without a risk, there is no reward. The greater the risk, the greater the possible reward. Everyone should take this advice into strong consideration. Any entrepreneur in the world could tell you about the risks they had to take–without the risks they would not be where they are today. If you’re going to take one thing from this quote it should be if you take the risk, you’ll reap the rewards. Live a little, take a risk or two.

“you shall above all things be glad and young
For if you’re young, whatever life you wear
it will become you; and if you are glad
   whatever’s living will yourself become.”

This is an expert from the beginning of the poem by e.e. cummings, titled “you shall above all things be glad and young.” I think this is a great poem. Although e.e. cummings can be hard to understand at times, the beginning of this poem contain words that all people, young and old, glad and heavyhearted, can relate to. He is saying that more than anything else you shall (which indicates the necessity) be happy–for if you are happy, life will go ‘your way’. If you are, above anything else, young–at heart–you will ‘find yourself’. Each person may interpret this poem in different ways, but however you interpret it, it is great advice.
